LKM4140 consists of four identical over-voltage protection devices, with a double protection function. When there is an overload, the 5.6V stabilizing diode is destroyed reversing the short circuit to ground without a signal in order to protect the load. So at the same time of the PTC current increase, the PTC is still functioning. The input current decreases as an open circuit.
